Mark Dunnett is a well-known general contractor who has spent the majority of his career in the commercial contracting business focusing on commercial and retail building projects. From extensive retail tenant build-outs and shopping centers, to new and renovated hotel (hospitality) and restaurant jobs, Mr. Dunnett has a resume long enough to exhaust most experienced contractor qualification statement. His contracting business has thrived with extensive volumes from coast to coast in flourishing growth markets such as Minneapolis, New York, Chicago, Detroit, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Baltimore, Miami and many others in between.

…Dream, Create, Design, Draw and Seal…

His wide-ranging portfolio includes well-known hospitality (Starwwood and IHG) and restaurant chains, countless retailers, a couple national health clubs, several grocery stores, extreme developer related and specific tenant office tower build-outs, assisted living facilities and nursing home renovations and expansions.

Mr. Dunnett has a keen eye for constantly evolving the business of general contracting. several year ago he successfully expanded his business to offer design/build with in-house architectural services, allowing his business to become a “one-stop shop” for both national and localized clients. Many clients with the goal of “dream, create, design, draw and seal” were added to Mr. Dunnett’s already extensive portfolio of contracting work. Additionally, national roll-out clients in need of “rubber stamp” plans hunted these valuable services in order to excel their roll-out timelines.

While the contracting and design industry has weathered many storms, including hundreds of bankruptcies and foreclosures, Mr. Dunnett has managed to maintain a successful business model. He has adjusted to the ever-changing needs of the industry and responded with effective solutions that continue to progress the contracting business, regardless of the hurdles presented. In an economy where time and budget savings are continuously emphasized, Mr. Dunnett has stressed the use of self-performing crews, working superintendents and volume based buying tactics.
